Rayovac PS334 - Charger Manual
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

Your new charger can charge 2 or 4 AA, or AAA, nickel metal hydride (NiMH) or rechargeable nickel cadmium (NiCd) batteries. Please note that your new charger cannot be used to charge alkaline, rechargeable alkaline, carbon zinc, or lithium batteries.

Handy Recharging Tips
- Charge NiMH/NiCd batteries before first use. Unless noted on package they come charged.
- NiMH batteries have no memory so they can be recharged at any time.
- AA and AAA batteries can only be charged in pairs.
- Always replace all batteries in a device at once; otherwise you will get the performance of the weakest battery.
- Rayovac ready to use products will hold 60% charge for 1 year while not in use. If not used for several months, recharge.
- For optimal charging performance, charge batteries with same capacity together.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Load Batteries Into Charger.
- Load 2 or 4 AA or AAA NiMH/NiCd rechargeable batteries.
- If you want to charge 4 AA or 4 AAA batteries, put batteries into the charger compartments, as illustrated, taking care to observe polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the charger.
- If charging only 2 batteries in charger, place batteries in either the two left or two right side compartments of the charger, as illustrated, taking care to observe polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the charger
- Plug The Charger Into The Wall Socket.
- Flip up the plug on the back of charger until it is fully extended.
- NOTE: This power unit is intended for use with wall or floor outlets.
- Charge
- First, the charger detects batteries.
LED light will remain on until the 6.5 hr. timer terminates charging current.
- Bad battery - light(s) blinks rapidly when charger detects bad batteries (i.e. Alkaline battery)
- The bad battery light will illuminate if it detects alkaline or lithium batteries. These batteries should be removed immediately as they are not rechargeable. If a bad battery light illuminates for a NiMH battery, remove and re-insert the NiMH battery into the charger. If the bad battery icons remain the battery can be discarded.

- Charge times vary based on battery capacity. Rayovac PS334 charger uses micro controller technology which automatically terminates charge when batteries are full.
- Unplug the charger when not in use and remove the batteries.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Charge only rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) (≤ 2700mAh for AA, ≤ 1000mAh for AAA) or rechargeable nickel cadmium (NiCd) batteries in this charger. Rayovac brand batteries recommended – we cannot guarantee performance or quality of other batteries.
- Never charge regular, single use alkaline, zinc carbon, or lithium batteries.
- Never charge rechargeable alkaline batteries in this charger.
- Charging the wrong batteries in the charger or mixing battery types in this charger may cause them to become hot, leak or rupture, causing personal injury.
- Batteries may become warm when charging. This is normal.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the charger from the outlet prior to cleaning. Never immerse the charger in water or any other liquid. For indoor use only. Do not expose the charger to rain, snow, or excessive moisture.
- Never disassemble the charger or alter the plug. Do not use an extension cord or any attachment not recommended by the manufacturer. Improper assembly or connection can result in the risk of electrical shock, fire and injury to persons.
- Do not use the charger if it has been damaged. Take it to a qualified service location for repair.
- This charger should not be used by children or persons with certain disabilities or special needs.
- This power unit is intended to be correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mount position.
- DO NOT USE RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES IN SMOKE DETECTORS.
One-Year Limited Warranty
Spectrum Brands, Inc. (US) and Spectrum Brands Canada, Inc. warrant the enclosed charger to the original purchaser to be free of manufacturer defects for a one-year period from the original date of purchase. This warranty does not cover physical damage resulting from accident, misuse or modification of the charger. If the product should become defective within the warranty period, we will replace it free of charge if sent to: Spectrum Brands, Inc., 3001 Deming Way, Middleton, WI 53562. Attention: Consumer Services. THERE ARE NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES. All incidental and consequential damages are excluded from this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.
